Corporate Volunteering

Some businesses prefer to offer their emerging world development experiences company-wide with selection made on a competitive basis. Many offer a fixed number of places – for example ten – and employees apply to participate.

Typically these assignments are for shorter periods (1-2 weeks) although they can be longer and can involve multiple partners to provide diverse opportunities appropriate for the target group of employees.

These assignments tend to appeal to leaders looking to deepen their appreciation of different cultures and contexts and develop their cross-cultural understanding as well as making a positive contribution.

These programmes have proved to be an excellent way of engaging the whole organization, with participants blogging during their assignments and sharing their learning with colleagues upon return to work.
