Leadership Development Assignments
Challenging and inspirational, our overseas assignment opportunities develop top talent using real ‘business improvement’ projects in the emerging world.
Assignments are specific, focused and time-bound. There’s a careful match made between the needs of the partner organization and the objectives and development needs of each participant – whether that be self awareness, self confidence, perspective, resilience, or leadership of people in a global context.
Each assignment incorporates executive coaching to help participants learn and transfer the positive impact back to the workplace upon return and ensure integration with your company’s development plans. We run two principle assignment models:
Outzone Experiences (typically 3-4 weeks duration)
Aimed at high potential managers, these assignments take participants ‘out of their comfort zones’, completely immersing them in a new culture and environment while they support the local partner organisation.
Participants could find themselves conducting a strategic needs analysis of the business of a small entrepreneur in India, or developing a business plan for an organization producing and marketing fair trade produce in South America.
Pulse Assignments (typically 2-3 weeks duration, plus remote support)
These high-impact learning experiences aimed at senior executives. Participants are paired with a partner organization for a 3-6 month period to support an area of strategic and ongoing importance. Participants spend up to three weeks of time on the ground, spread over a couple of visits and provide remote support through conference calls and emails in the interim.
Participants could find themselves supporting organizational change at a regional NGO delivering social care and health programmes in Africa, or mentoring a social entrepreneur developing services for marginalised rural households in Asia.
