And this is just the Taster…

In 2020 we hosted the first INmersive Experience Taster session – A half day event that enabled people with an interest in our work to come together and experience how a virtual Immersion programme feels.

Six participants from a range of corporations came together virtually to be a part of this dynamic learning experience which featured one of our partners working in the diversty and inclusion space, The Ruth Ellis Center.

The first session received such positive feedback, and created an impact for both partners and participants, that we have continued to run a taster session for a new group every 6 weeks.

To date participants from leading global organisations including Facebook, Solvay, AXA, ServiceNow, BDO and Aramex have joined a taster experience.

The next taster session takes place on 24 June 2021. To register your interest, or to learn more.

Although compressed in time, as a result of these sessions, leaders and programme managers have really been able to internalise how a full INmersion Experience would feel for programme participants.

“The Taster INmersion Experience made me feel positively uncomfortable, slowed me down to speed up my thinking and gave me insights into collaborating through complex, ambiguous and uncertain situations” Martin Caine, Royal Philips

The virtual approach creates a safe learning environment for participants to embrace new ways of collaborating, experiment with behaviours, ask powerful questions, exchange diverse perspectives and mindfully reflect. And while receiving guidance from an experienced coach, participants work on a real complex issue that supports an inspirational partner.

Kirsty Foster, our Operations Director and Coach, shared her experience of a recent taster session that featured another valued partner, Downtown Boxing Gym in Detroit in US:

“We kicked off the year feeling the love and connection with a special taster of our INmersion programme offerings. Sampled from our home offices, kitchens, and spare rooms, bringing the outside in and the inside out to create diverse, powerful learning and impact.

Jessica and Khali from Downtown Boxing Gym Detroit; joined to share the inspiring work of Downtown, a project which empowers Detroit youth through education, athletics, mentorship, and intervention to succeed, and also to bring their challenge of scaling the unique culture of connection, trust and encouragement that underpins the success of their work.

Participants experienced a grounding in emotional literacy and then collaborated, using action learning to forge a breakthrough action plan for Downtown, whilst in parallel honing personal leadership skills. It was such an honour to work with the participants, to hone a safe learning environment together where we could bring our whole selves and leave enthused and inspired for the time ahead.“
