The Opportunity
Emerging World partners with purpose-driven organizations that often face similar leadership challenges despite operating in different contexts. Following feedback from partners, it became clear there was strong appetite for deeper connection and shared learning across the network.
The opportunity was to create a space where senior leaders from different organizations could support one another — not through advice alone, but by working together on real challenges.
The Journey
Emerging World created Peer Learning Coaching Circles, a five-week virtual programme bringing together senior leaders from social impact organizations in small cohorts. Participants presented live organizational challenges and worked together using a structured questioning process to explore practical next steps.
Sessions combined guided content with peer support, focusing on empathy, inclusion and challenging assumptions. The design followed our Transformation Journey:
- Step Out – Creating space away from daily pressures to think more deeply
- Step In – Engaging real, unresolved organizational challenges
- Step Back – Reflecting on assumptions, leadership behaviours and perspective
- Step Forward – Developing integration plans to embed learning back homesions.
The final session centred on reflection and planning how to apply learning within participants’ organizations.
The Transformation
Peer connection became a catalyst for practical progress. Participants reported both relational and practical benefits.
- 100% agreed the programme strengthened leadership skills.
- 100% would recommend the programme.
- 100% believed participation would positively impact organizational outcomes.
Leaders reported reframing challenges and identifying practical next steps.
As Shubha Chacko of Solidarity Foundation reflected:
“The PLCC was a chance to reframe our organizational challenges and think about practical next steps. An enjoyable learning experience that is carefully crafted to allow participation and building relationships.”
Beyond individual growth, the programme strengthened relationships across the Emerging World network — building trust, empathy and collaboration that extended beyond the five sessions.
